We are embarking on new AI-driven projects to enhance our capabilities and are looking for a talented AI Intern to join our team and contribute to these exciting initiatives. During your time here, you will have the chance to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company!What We’re Looking For:Iridium seeks a stand-out AI Intern to support our Information Systems group with an opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of innovative AI-powered solutions at Iridium. As an AI Intern, you will work closely with our strategic and engineering teams, including AI experts to steer proof-of-concept projects and help drive the adoption of AI within the organization. This is an ideal role for an entry-level candidate passionate about artificial intelligence, eager to learn, and ready to make a meaningful impact.What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the planning, design, development and execution of AI-driven proof of concepts (POCs) to test and validate new ideas.
  • Help evaluate and select appropriate AI tools, techniques, and technologies for various business use cases
  • Participate in the development and testing of AI-driven prototypes and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and product managers, to gather requirements and support AI project initiatives, understand business requirements and translate them into practical AI applications
  • Conduct research and stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in the field of artificial intelligence
  • Contribute to the documentation and knowledge sharing around AI initiatives within the organization
  • Support the development and deployment of machine learning models and AI tools for different use cases.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify potential areas where AI can add value to company operations and customer experiences.
  • Help prepare presentations, documentation, and reports summarizing project progress and outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques
  • Familiarity with popular AI/ML frameworks and libraries, previous coursework or experience related to AI, deep learning, or neural network architectures.
  • Some experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and willing to learn about their AI platforms.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Enthusiasm for learning and exploring new AI technologies
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be eligible to work in person
